I have a lot of favourite moments of Sailor moon the 90 anime, some of the most important s to me involved Rei and Usagui.

1) First season, it is after Rei sacrificed herself, the spirits of the others sailors encourage Usagui to keep going, and Rei still gives her tough love.

2) Last season, after Galaxia took their stellar seed, and Usagui plead to Rei, to not leave her.

What is your favourite moments of Sailor Moon?, manga, anime or any other adaptation

You just listed two of my favorites lmao. Usagi and Rei have my favorite relationship in the show, so any intense moment between them is instantly my favorite. I really like Rei's death in the season 1 finale. Her being the final one to go is just chef's kiss. Another Rei moment I like is near the end of the last season when she's the only one who notices Usagi is hiding her pain and confronts her about Mamoru not responding to her letters.

Other favorite moments without Rei are:

Usagi desperately trying to transform in the S finale (and pretty much the entire sequence that follows it with Saturn appearing and Sailor Moon defeating Pharoh 90 offscreen and coming back with baby Hotaru. good shit)

Usagi refusing to use the sword in the series finale

Pretty much all of episode 92 (A Handsome Boy? Haruka Tenoh's Secret) with Minako and Usagi crushing on Haruka. Top tier inner senshi shenanigans

Uranus and Neptune sacrificing themselves for the talismans

Michiru flirting with Seiya and Haruka walking in to have a butch-to-butch staredown

The Outer Senshi queer polycule family! Every moment with them just makes me so happy. I would watch a sitcom spinoff about the hopelessly romantic sapphic couple, ageless eternal being aunt and their spooky posessed daughter.

What is your favourite planet: I'd have to say Saturn for reasons that are slightly embarrassing.

Do you believe in life outside of earth: Maybe not life as we understand it on Earth, but it'd be some degree of hubris to think that we're entirely alone in the universe.

What is your favourite piece of space themed media: It's loosely space themed and might be related to my first answer to these questions – Sailor Moon. It's always a good comfort to watch and I've loved it in every iteration that I've consumed. Currently I'm enjoying something that's a bit more space related – 23.5. It's such a cute little Thai drama.

What are your big three signs: Pisces Sun, Cancer Moon, Cancer rising.

What do you think of astrology: It's a good deal of fun, but not something I base my life around. It's pretty useful for writing fanfiction though, so in that regard it's great.

Just randomly had the thought of how one of my favourite time travel tropes is Tricked Out Time, where the characters change the outcome of an event without changing how it looks like things went down.

For example, a Sailor Moon crossover fic has an epilogue where Hotaru (Sailor Saturn) and Chibi-usa (Sailor Chibi Moon) go back in time and pretend to be their Evil Alter Egos (Mistress 9 and Dark Lady, respectively), just to soften the impact of what their past selves were supposed to do to the heroes.

Quick Question

You've probably been asked this question a lot but I'll ask anyways, who's your favourite of the Sailor Scouts? (Mines Sailor Jupiter, as a trans girl I like her combination of toughness and femininity, plus, we share the same star sign and she uses lightning)

A lot of people have headcanons about trans Mako and I love that. ❤️ She also speaks to so many GNC people because she's got so many interesting layers to her. (Also she's just super cool.)

If you had asked me who my favorite was when I was 13, I would have had an impossible time answering between Uranus and Neptune, who I was completely obsessed with at the time. I still really really love them (I think Neptune is particularly interesting to explore, given that she has apparently been tormented her entire life by realistic hallucinations of the world ending... yikes) and they also have such a fun dynamic, not to mention the very important nostalgia element of my very first canon wlw ship to latch onto for representation.

Saturn is also a contender because I find her whole background fascinating (especially if you go with the manga canon of her dad turning her into a cyborg??) She has a very Stranger Things weird monster child vibe and I LOVE that. She's so many things all at once. So much to work with there.

Mercury was never my focus when I was younger, but she's popped up in almost all my recent comics so I guess I like her more than I realized. 😆 She's a great foil to everyone else's antics when they're wilding out and she's the only one with any sense. (Or shame) And she is so cute. 

I also really love Mars because she's so pretty and has a lot of interesting outfits to draw her in (my favorite is her miko robes) and I also love mean/grouchy girls so she's fun to write, too.  😼 I love exploring her emotional constipation and those rare moments where she shows vulnerability. But I also like writing her bullying Ami. 😈

If I had to pick who I am the most LIKE, everyone I know says I'm Venus. She is also one of my favorites to write/draw because she is just so... ADHD 🤣 (just like me) I love her goofy side which is sometimes genuine and sometimes a mask to cover her very serious and dark thoughts. Of all the inners, she's been awoken and fighting for the longest, and although she always tries to hide behind a smile and a joke, she may be the most emotionally scarred of all. All she wants is for someone to acknowledge her, tell her she's doing a good job, but the role she's been given is a thankless one.

I really love the Sailor Saturn print because she's my favourite (besides Sailor Moon) and it's so pretty!!!! I got a Gale sticker which is cute and some HSR stickers (Sampo and Blade my pookies). I ALSO FINALLY GOT THIS IDIA KEYCHAIN IVE BEEN WANTING FOREVER. I saw this stall at this other small convention and they had twst keychains but they had sold out of the Idia ones so I bought a vil one and said I would come back to get the Idia one AND SO I DID. Also an ask me about my OC pin because please ask me about my OC.

ALSO SOMEONE WAS SELLING JERMA PRINTS AND I WANTED ONE SO BAD BUT I HAD NO MONEY LEFT. LITERALLY 0 DOLLARS. I did get their business card though (same person I bought my I ♡ pathetic men pin from)

do you make your bed? I used to as a kid, mostly because my mom made me lol. But when I reached my teens I gave up - no one but me is seeing it anyway!

what’s your favourite number? I've always had an affinity for 4, though couldn't say why. I've always associated it with the color purple as well.

what is your job? assistant manager at a shoe store 🤷‍♀️ it's not bad but man do the customers get on my nerves

if you could go back to school would you? absolutely not. I'm 37 and still have nightmares about being late for class or forgetting to show up. I liked college but I'm not capable of that level of homework anymore.

can you parallel park? never learned how to drive LOL

a job you had that would surprise people? janitor I guess?? I actually liked it a lot though. We'd clean the local museum, so I got to see some art, and then we'd drive all the way up into the hills to clean the wind turbine research center.

do you think aliens are real? I hope they are, and I also hope they stay the fuck away from humans cause we are NOT going to treat them well.

do you like puzzles? like, jigsaw puzzles? haven't done one in years but they're okay. puzzles in general? yes! I love figuring things out lol.

any phobias? not fond of large spiders but I always try to capture and release them outside. I'm also a lil nervous around any animal bigger than I am. deep water wigs me the fuck out. if I ever got any sort of parasite my soul would leave my body.

favourite childhood sport? volleyball and tennis! I loved playing those, and was fairly good at them :3

do you talk to yourself? oh definitely. not a lot but usually when I'm doing an annoying task or playing video games.

what movie(s) do you adore? favourite movies are:

1. Only God Forgives. Most films by Refn leave me very cold but something about this one is just my jam. The music, the acting, the story, Vithaya Pansringarm beating the shit out of Ryan Gosling - immaculate.

2. Ravenous. Caught this one randomly one night on IFC when I was younger. Couldn't believe I've never heard of it as it has both Guy Pearce AND Robert Carlyle, two of my fave actors. Anyway it was life changing and I'll never recover.

3. Suspiria (2018). I like the original as well but man. MAN. Everything about Guadagnino's version was made specifically for me.

4. Taboo (Gohatto). Accidentally came across this one when I was def too young to watch it lmao. I was going through a samurai phase and so naturally I was like oh cool, and they're gay? Sign me up! Let me tell ya, this one is a doozy. Basically it's about a bunch of samurai vying for the affections of a beautiful youth who also happens to be a full on sociopath (affectionate), and it does Not End Well. Also has Tadanobu Asano and Takeshi Kitano, who are awesome as usual.

coffee or tea? I like both but coffee is just SO GOOD.

first thing you wanted to be growing up? earliest thing I can remember wanting to be was an FBI agent? I was very into the X-Files as a kid and thought it would be a great job haha.

WOW OKAY WHAT A QUESTION BUT VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. Okay my favorite inner sailor guardian is Sailor Mars! I adore Rei and I love that she is both feisty and spiritual and flaming mandala was always my favorite as a kid.

My favorite outer rim sailor guardian is Sailor Saturn and she is also my favorite overall. I adore Hotaru's quiet nature and I love that there is essentially a guardian that is only reborn when the world needs to be reborn. I love the concept that she is the sailor of silence and death and when she swings her scythe, the world ends.

Some notable other favorites: I also really love Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune!! And I think the sailor Starlights are also reaalllly cool.

I will watch random compilation videos from Game Grumps or Markiplier or catch up on my YouTube subscriptions, but I will also listen to music and occasionally dance if a good song comes on shuffle lol

Most comfortable would probably be either Kaneda or Stella and my most uncomfortable one would be Sailor Saturn, probably because of the heels!

okay more sailor moon thoughts since i just finished the third arc/the infinity arc (chapter 38 in the 2011 kodansha retranslation)

the third is definitely my favourite so far! i found the plot far more engaging and i feel like the conflicts in this arc had a lot more depth than in previous arcs. it still follows the same formula as the first two but i think it expanded on it well with more moving pieces at play than the others

they all seem to follow a formula of having some big dark blob of power and their right-hand ruler, plus like 5-7 underlings sent one at a time to beat the shit out of the sailor guardians and/or steal the legendary silver crystal, then the right-hand ruler gets more hands-on once all the other underlings fail, concluding with a huge battle to defeat the dark energy blob once and for all; along with a secondary plot of someone new entering the cast and the rest of the main cast fussing to figure out if they're part of The Enemy or not, concluding when that mess gets mixed into the big bad fight and they all defeat the enemy together and are great friends in the end

my point is i feel like the infinity arc finally added some more depth with that, with the human professor and hotaru/sailor saturn

generally tho i'm finding the enemies really difficult to care about, like their motivation is pretty flat and we have very little background on where they come from and why they're thirsting after the legendary silver crystal aside from a general thirst for power. like, aside from these five or seven people whose figurehead is a nebulous dark mass, do they have an actual society? are there more of them? where do they come from? why are they here? are the ""the enemy""s from all the arcs different branches of reaching into the same dark power or are there just a lot of random dark energy patches in space that have spawned these suspiciously similar tiny alien cultures around them thirsting for power and domination? what the fuck is dark energy????????? sailor moon has a very soft magic system, not generally my cup of tea

i'm also still not finding the main characters themselves particularly engaging :( they have a large main cast to flesh out but i feel like their personalities are so under-utilized! i think that's just a function of the plot being driven by the setting/worldbuilding/lore and not by the characters, which is also not my cup of tea as a storytelling style

i am also feeling a sizeable lack of consequence following the climaxes of major arcs. like there's not none, i just feel like for the scope of events there should be more? they get to keep their power-ups and they know more about the enemy, but not really because they just beat that guy. that's kind of it? and time passes, and sometimes things happen because of time passing. idk they just blew shit up in space y'know or in this case blew space up in the middle of tokyo. i might be misunderstanding how the third arc final battle actually concluded tho i'm still a bit unclear on how the fuck they did all that in tokyo and now everything is normal again?

i mean i wanna finish positive, the art is stupendously gorgeous and the graphic design of the panel layouts and use of speech bubbles and captions and such is like, some of the best i've ever seen for sure

tl;dr third arc is favourite and i'm generally enjoying it but i am definitely not the target audience of this manga

a random thought: I’m so glad Ikuhara and Igarashi went on to do their own things after their work on the Sailor Moon anime ‘cause they on their own and together just weren’t entirely right for the series the same way Junichi Sato was.

An unpopular opinion: Sailor Moon Crystal wasn’t all bad, mainly due to the second half being a lot stronger than the first.

My Canon OTP: Haruka/Michiru.

My Non-canon OTP: Rei/Minako.

Most Badass Character:.Sailor Saturn.

Most Epic Villain: The Nemesis clan and Death Phantom, though Sailor Galaxia comes really close.

Pairing I am not a fan of: A good few, but first and foremost, Usagi/Seiya. What were they thinking there?

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Lots of the villains in the different mediums. In the manga I wasn’t too fond of the non-Kunzite Shittenou, the Spectre Sisters, and the Dead Moon Circus, and in the anime they screwed up the Witches 5, Queen Nehelania in Stars, and the Shadow Galactica group, mainly the Sailor Animites.

Favourite Friendship: Usagi and Naru.

Character I most identify with: Ami Mizuno.

Character I wish I could be: Tuxedo Mask!
